My name is Erika Venegas. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist offering mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults. My passion is to assist individuals achieve their therapy goals, and ultimately lead a happier and healthier life. My approach Every client’s needs are different, therefore, my approach for each client will vary, since the path to recovery is unique for each person. Different approaches I can provide is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, etc. I believe each person can find the coping strategies and techniques needed to help them overcome the many challenges they face in life. My focus My experience in treatment is in depression, anxiety, anger management, child/adolescent issues, behavioral issues, trauma, parenting issues, etc. I have experience working with children, adults, and families. My experience ranges from being school-based to community mental health clinics. My communication style I aim to create an environment in session where a client feels heard, supported, comfortable, and understood. My approach in session is empathy and compassions, without judgement. My journey to mental healthcare When I was 14 years old my father passed away from cancer and when I was 17 years old my older brother was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Throughout my life I lead a life filled with anger, resentment, depression and anxiety. However, after some time I found I needed to heal, find a way forward, which lead me to seek therapy. The therapist that assisted in my healing, also instilled the desire to help others. My goals for you I work with individuals to identify the client’s needs. Together, we create goals, based on the needs. I seek to go at the paced of the client when working on their treatment goal throughout their time in therapy. My goal is to collaboratively work towards achieving the treatment goal.
